Haunting footage has emerged of the Logan mother and her baby girl walking home just hours before they were found stabbed to death.
Kate Paterson, 38, and her daughter, April, 1, were found with stab wounds in their Belivah house at 7.30am on Thursday.
Footage obtained from a neighbour’s CCTV camera shows Ms Paterson carrying April as they walk home less than 12 hours earlier on Wednesday evening.
Another neighbour said his cameras caught Seers running past his house at around 7.22am on Thursday minutes after the incident.

“My cameras caught him running past. He was running very fast at 7.22,” he said.
“I saw was that he was bald and he ran really fast, next door neighbour who saw him laying on the road when she was taking her kids to childcare.”
Police made the tragic discovery after witnesses reported seeing a man running down the street and towards a supermarket on Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd, Bannockburn, where he was then hit by a car.
The man, Blake Seers, 39, remains in hospital under police guard. No charges have been laid and police were still working to determine what occurred.

Detective Superintendent Chris Ahearn said the family lived in the house on Belivah Rd, about 300m away from where the man was found.
Ms Paterson was a Year 5 teacher at Windaroo State School.

It’s understood Seers has serious mental health flags.
“We’re treating it as a suspicious death,” Supt Ahearn said.
“We are investigating the nature of why that gentleman came to be hit by a car and we also have witness accounts of him running from that house shortly before he was struck by the car.
“There are some witness accounts that suggest he was running towards where he was hit by the car,” he said.

A large crime scene was set up on Thursday with a long trail of blood leading from the family home to the crash scene at the intersection.
Forensic police marked the 300m trail with dozens of evidence markers.

A black ute with significant damage to the driver’s side door was also on the side of the road inside the crime scene.
Witness Gloria Seal said she saw a man covered in blood and emergency services working on him in the middle of the road.
“It was very distressing, walking past that was awful. I saw the black Ute on the side of the road,” she said.
“There was one ambulance at that point. He was covered in blood.”

Neighbours behind the house said they heard the screams of a woman about 7.30am.
“We just heard screaming coming from the house,” one neighbour said.
Supt Ahearn said the man was under police guard at the hospital and they were not able to speak with him due to his condition.

“He’s in a serious condition,” he said.
“We believe he is unconscious currently at the hospital.
“We are currently investigating the nature of the relationship between these people and the living arrangements at that house.
“Any issues like mental health will be examined in the fullness of the investigation.”
Neighbour Heather Wealleans, who lives opposite the home, said she’d interacted with the couple.

Police closed the street for several hours where a woman and a child were found dead in Logan.
Ms Wealleans said the mother would often walk past her home with her young child.
“I’m a little bit mindblown,” Ms Wealleans said.
“I saw the wife walking the baby, a lot of the mums [in the neighbourhood] if they’ve got infants, they’re always walking by.
“A couple of times they’ve come over because I’ve got a dryer in the garage, I leave the garage door open and they’ve come over a couple of times to say I’ve left it open.”

Police Minister Dan Purdie on Thursday said it was a tragic incident that unfolded in Logan.
“I’ve been briefed on this morning and that’s currently an investigation by detectives and homicide squad and probably inappropriate for me to comment further on that at the moment,” he said.
Police remained at the scene on Friday morning, with a growing number of floral tributes seen outside on the grass.
Neighbours have told The Courier-Mail of the “shock” they feel to know a mother and child lost their lives metres from their homes.
Nipun Powar, who lives a few houses down from Ms Paterson said he would see the family walking by his home “happy” and “smiling.
“They’re just generally seemed a really happy family,” he said.
“I would see them frequently walking down, going to the park.
“I constantly think about it like, you know, wish I had stopped them for a chat … But it’s too late now, unfortunately.”
Another neighbour, who did not want to be identified said she knew Ms Paterson and April, as her son was the same age.
“We would have conversations. Just the other week I saw April and said how big she was getting,” she said.
Community member Caroline Bower said a vigil will take place at Belivah Rd at 5.30pm on Friday, with attendees asked to bring a light or a flower along.
Ms Bower said a song will be played, with a moment of silence to be observed during the song.

“Our community will come together this evening to honour the lives of Miss Patterson and her daughter April, who were tragically taken from their loved ones yesterday (Thursday),” Ms Bower said.
“Please join us as we gather to light a light and lay flowers, remembering them and surrounding their family with love, strength, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
“In times like this, our community stands together. By sharing our grief, supporting one another, and coming together as one, we can begin to find strength and healing.”
Supt Ahearn appealed for anyone at Belivah Rd and Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd between 7am and 8.30am, who had dashcam or who had any footage, to contact police.
