A record-breaking heatwave is impacting south-east Australia, with temperature records tumbling in parts of Victoria and South Australia.

There are fears that several properties have been lost in a fire burning through Victoria’s Otways region. It’s one of several out-of-control blazes that crews are battling in extremely difficult conditions.

In an emergency, the ABC will broadcast regular warnings on ABC Radio.

You can find your local frequency here.

For incidents in South Australia, visit the Country Fire Service.

The warnings for the grassfire north-east of Camperdown have been updated.

Berrybank, Duverney, Foxhow, Lismore, Naringhil South and Werneth, which are located further north of the existing Emergency Warnings, are now under a Watch and Act.

Residents of these towns have been told to monitor conditions and “leave if the situation changes or you feel unsafe”.

The fire is travelling in a north-easterly direction.
