The dust is still settling on the final MAFS dinner party of the season, and everyone is talking about Scott and Gia. Despite dubbing themselves “the strongest” couple in the season at the start of the experiment, their relationship has slowly unravelled over the last few weeks and finally imploded during last night’s episode.
With most (if not all) the fault of their relationship’s demise being tossed at Gia’s feet (and the bride already getting fans off-side with her perpetual pot stirring), Scott has been showered with support after it was confirmed they’ve gone their separate ways.
“I was so happy watching tonight’s episode where you finally gave Gia a piece of your mind,” one fan wrote on a social media post of Scott’s.
“You deserved so much better than Gia,” another said, with the sentiment echoed across the internet.
And, if Scott admitting that he’d fallen in love with Gia during the dinner party and on MAFS: After The Dinner Party didn’t already rally fans around the heartbroken man, his post-MAFS move has certainly won everyone’s favour.

And honestly, it’s a genius move.
Why?
Because everyone loves a man who is a “softie” with a big heart, and that’s exactly how Scott wants you to think of him.
Scott’s genius post-MAFS move to win over the public
Now, I’m not at all taking away from how devastating it is for someone to disappoint and hurt you romantically.
That very much was the case for Scott, who appeared visibly upset multiple times throughout the season over his relationship with Gia, and how she treated him.
However, there’s no denying that fans are quicker to rally around a heartbroken man than a heartbroken woman.

And, when there’s an obvious move to capitalise on that sentiment to solidify his reputation — like offering free fuel to his followers during a global shortage — it’s fair to say the man is a little more in control of the narrative than he lead on in the show.
Last week, Scott jumped on his TikTok to offer his followers a chance of winning a full tank of fuel.
The way to enter the draw?
All fans have to do is engage in his social media posts.
“Since you’ve all been supporting me, I’m going to give back and start supporting some of you,” he said in the video.
“All you have to do is like, share and comment on this post the closest number to what it costs to fill my car, and you win a full tank of fuel”.
Cue fans thinking Scott is an absolute “legend”.
“You’re a great guy, I’m doing this for fun. $230,” one woman guessed.
“$167! Love you Scotty. Seriously you are an amazing man and any woman would be lucky to have you,” another said.
Even fellow contestant Danny Hewitt (who has had an interesting post-MAFS move of his own) chimed in, commenting: “My man’s the best bloke”.
It’s a bold move by Scott because it’s an obvious one, but no one has seemed to notice.
He is clearly investing a couple of hundred dollars of fuel to position himself as a good guy and reap the rewards this will do for his reputation going forward.
At the moment, Scott has 49,000 followers on Instagram and ranks fourth in a table of potential earning off the back of the show (when compared to other contestants).
And, I wouldn’t be surprised if this position shifts after his fuel move.
Time will tell.
