Tiger Duggan is receiving treatment at a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a motorbike collision on Sunday, Feb. 1
On Saturday, Feb. 7, his mom, Lisa Duggan, shared a video asking for donations towards medical costs and transporting him home to England
“I’m begging, please reach deep into your pockets. Every penny counts,” said Lisa through tears
A British man critically injured in a motorbike crash in Thailand is reliant on the generosity of strangers to get him home, according to his mother.
On Sunday, Feb. 1, Tiger Duggan sustained life-threatening injuries when the motorbike he was riding crashed during a vacation to Koh Samui, Thailand, the BBC and the Metro reported. The 23-year-old, from Milton Keynes, England, had been working in Perth, Australia, before going on the vacation to Thailand.
He is currently on life support at MedPark Hospital in Bangkok, according to the outlets. A fundraiser has been set up because a clause in his travel insurance policy allegedly states his medical bills related to the incident are not covered.
“Tiger’s condition remains critical,” said his mom, Lisa Duggan, in a now-viral YouTube Short. “My nursing colleagues have set up a GoFundMe page, which has reached across the world. We have had an amazing amount of donations, which we’re truly overwhelmed by.”

Speaking from Tiger’s bedside, Lisa continued, “Tiger’s medical fees have reached thousands already. Sadly, they continue to rise, and we need to get my son, Tiger Duggan, home. Wherever that may be, whether that may be Australia, or…England, for Tiger. Either way, we need to get him home.
“Obviously, England is a lot further from where we are currently, which will cost us a lot of money. I have had a quote, I have got a repatriation medical team working on it for us,” she said.
Lisa became overwhelmed with emotion as she expressed that the amount of money that has currently been raised on GoFundMe “is not enough” to get Tiger home. She revealed that her husband, Kieron Duggan, is supporting their other son, River, 21, in Koh Samui while she has been joined by a friend in Bangkok.
“I’m begging you, please help us,” Lisa said through tears. “Help us get this boy home, whichever way that may look. I’m begging, please reach deep into your pockets. Every penny counts.”

Over $230,000 have been raised towards getting Tiger back to the U.K. for specialist treatment at the time of writing. He was feared dead for 16 minutes before being resuscitated at the scene of the crash and rushed to the hospital, said GoFundMe organizer Mary Duggan.
“The emotional toll of this situation is overwhelming, but the financial burden is also immense, including medical treatment abroad, transfers between hospitals, flights, accommodation, and the long road ahead,” Mary wrote in the fundraiser’s description.
“This fundraiser has been set up to help ease that burden so Lisa and her family can focus entirely on being by Tiger’s side and supporting his recovery,” she added.
While speaking to the Australian outlet 10 News, Tiger’s father, Kieron, described the situation as like being “in a scary movie, and it’s just not getting better.”
“Four days’ care was £26,000 [$36,000],” he said.
Kieron added to the BBC that the family has “got to have hope,” despite medics describing his son as “brain dead.”
He revealed to the outlet that Tiger was in Thailand to celebrate his best friend’s birthday when the accident happened.
“They’d just been to the gym, they’d gone for lunch and Tiger was overtaking a car,” said Kieron, per the BBC. “As he was overtaking a car, another bike — because it’s crazy out here — flew across the road, it threw him from the bike.”
“His poor friend has been there [at the hospital] every day,” he added.
