Dreams are about to hit the pavement as CBS unveils its latest star-studded reality competition series, The Road. This fall, twelve rising country artists will pack their bags, hit the tour circuit, and put their dreams—and grit—to the test alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.
Big Names. Bigger Stage.
The Road is produced by Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan (creator of Yellowstone), and hosted by Keith Urban, who also serves as the featured headliner. As these up-and-coming artists travel the country, they’ll get the chance of a lifetime: to open for Urban on his nationwide tour, performing for thousands while learning what it really takes to be a full-time country artist.
“I know a thing or two about singing competitions and what it’s like to chase a music dream and live life on tour,” Blake Shelton said in the show’s official announcement. “This is going to be raw, real, and a heck of a ride.”
Life on the Road Ain’t Easy…
Enter Gretchen Wilson, the no-nonsense “Redneck Woman” hitmaker, who’s stepping into the role of tour manager and mentor. Wilson will guide the contestants through the gritty day-to-day of tour life — from stage prep to emotional breakdowns and everything in between.
“Helping them sharpen their talents and guiding them through the real and raw grind of life on the road has been a highlight of my career,” Wilson shared in a recent post.
Meet the Contestants: 12 Voices. One Journey.
After months of build-up, CBS officially revealed the 12 contestants who will compete on The Road. Each brings their own sound, story, and small-town roots — but they all share one thing in common: a burning desire to make it.
Here’s the full lineup:
Adam Sanders – Lake City, Florida
Billie Jo Jones – Emory, Texas
Blaine Bailey – Tahlequah, Oklahoma
Briana Adams – Winchester, Texas
Britnee Kellogg – Anthem, Arizona
Cassidy Daniels – Marion, North Carolina
Channing Wilson – LaFayette, Georgia
Cody Hibbard – Adair, Oklahoma
Forrest McCurren – Jefferson City, Missouri
Jenny Tolman – Nashville, Tennessee
Jon Wood – Wake Forest, North Carolina
Olivia Harms – Canby, Oregon
“The Road can be unforgiving,” CBS teased in their cast announcement. “But these 12 musicians are ready to risk it all.”
When & Where to Watch
The Road will premiere on CBS this fall, with episodes available to stream on Paramount+ the following day. While an official premiere date has not yet been confirmed, anticipation is already running high across fan circles and country music forums.
