The new mom admitted that she was at a loss for words and overcome with love when meeting her baby girl for the first time.
“The right words are hard to find to describe how parts of my heart that I didn’t even knew existed were unlocked at 8:44 am when they laid you on my belly for the first time. I will never be the same. You, to your dad and me, are absolute perfection,” she wrote. “We are honored God chose us to be your parents. Thank you to everyone for all of the love, prayers and support for our precious daughter.”
In the announcement, the Georgia native revealed that she wrote a song for her daughter that was also inspired by the passing of her father last year. She co-wrote the track, “Heaven Sent,” with HARDY and Ben Johnson.
“I have a little surprise for everyone. To celebrate the most precious miracle on Earth I have decided to release a song I wrote about my daughter. We learned she was coming in a time of deep sadness after the loss of my daddy. I wasn’t sure when I would share ‘Heaven Sent’ but watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now,” Alaina explained. “She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it. Beni’s daddy. My sweet and steady husband. Beni truly is a gift from God that my old man sitting up there in Heaven Sent. It’s out now everywhere.”
Lauren and Cam first announced their unexpected pregnancy using the music video for Alaina’s heartfelt tune, “Those Kind of Women.” The video captures the story of motherhood and celebrates the influential women in her life growing up. At the very end, the pregnancy announcement is made with a statement that reads, “This video is dedicated to my Momma and our sweet Baby Arnold coming summer of 2025.”
During an interview on Country Heat Weekly, the songstress shared the story of finding out she was pregnant, noting it was actually her husband who was the first out of the two of them to know.
She decided to take an at-home test after realizing she was usually late for her cycle. Alaina initially brushed it off thinking it was simply due to the stress of having just lost her father, however she knew in her gut that there was something else happening.
“I had the strangest feeling. I was just like, I think I’m pregnant. And it wasn’t like I could feel it. I didn’t feel any different, but there was just something in me that was like, buckle up, sister.”
She was so nervous that she made her husband check the test first. He was quick to spot the two, very dark, pink lines.
“I mean, there was no missing it,” she recalled. “He was just stunned into silence. And I go, ‘there’s a key. It’s got one line or two.’ And he goes, ‘um, come look at it.’ So I walked in there and he goes, ‘we’re pregnant.’”
Following the release of the music video, the new parents shared their baby’s gender in an Instagram clip that showcased them painting their pets paws and placing their prints on a canvas. At the end, the black and white coloring is lifted to reveal the baby pink paint.
“Baby Arnold is a…,” her captioned the joint social media post.
Lauren Alaina has maintained her powerhouse status throughout her entire pregnancy. She served as an opener on each night of Rascal Flatts’ 25th Anniversary Life Is A Highway Tour, has been working hard on her next album, dropped several new songs and made an appearance during CMA Fest despite being several dates past her due date.
In the days leading up to the arrival of her little one, the Georgia native also posted several videos to social media that found her soaking up every last minute with her baby bump.
“Call me crazy but I’m gonna miss being pregnant. Please tell me I’m not alone!? Enjoying every bit of this bump 🥹,” she wrote in her last video before giving birth.
Even though she was a few days overdue, the timing of her baby’s arrival ended up being perfect, as it aligned with the release of her new song, “Heaven Sent.” The heartfelt tune finds Alaina reflecting on her chapter as a first-time mom while simultaneously discovering how a new life can bring a new whole new purpose to a family after losing a loved one. The song was written by Alaina alongside labelmate Michael Hardy.
Lauren Alaina will enjoy a summer at home with her family of three before heading back on the road for three currently scheduled shows across August and September.
