
A mother threw herself into the water from the pier of a Carnival cruise ship to rescue her four-year-old daughter, who had fallen between the ship and the pier during a stop at the private island Celebration Key in the Bahamas. The woman reacted immediately and reached the girl within seconds, while crew members threw life jackets and deployed a ladder to help them. Both were rescued quickly and evaluated by Carnival’s medical team. The episode was recorded by a passenger and generated applause and shock among the witnesses
