BBC TV star announces he’s engaged – after being tipped for James Bond role

THE star of several hit BBC series is set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend.

James Nelson-Joyce, who is hotly tipped to be the next James Bond, got engaged to jazz singer Olivia Frances Brown over the weekend.

The couple, both from Liverpool, shared their happy news with a post on Instagram.

They posed together in one happy snap and in the next photo, Olivia showed off her sparkler and the pair were showered with messages of congratulations.

James opted for simple, but stylish black suit over a white t-shirt for his big day, while Olivia wore a chic blazer style fitted dress and wore her brunette locks in long waves.

“16/08/23 [25],” James captioned the post.

“Huge congrats to you two. The kindness and loveliest couple who deserve all the joy and love. Very exciting,” wrote one person in the comments.

Another added: “Gorgeous pair.”

And a third commented: “Best couple.”

James, 36, made a name for himself in his breakout role playing James ‘Yatesy’ Yates in the BBC drama, Little Boy Blue, alongside the legendary Stephen Graham.

More recently, James starred opposite Sean Bean as the Liverpudlian crime boss, Michael Kavanaugh in the gangster drama, This City is Ours which also aired on the BBC.

Bookies have strongly tipped him for the 007 role and the star gave his own verdict on whether he would like to be Bond.

“I mean… double-O Scouse, I’m here for it,” James joked to BBC Radio Merseyside.

The actor added that seeing the buzz around him following his role in This City is Ours has been a real “pinch myself” moment.

As for Olivia, along with her singing chops, she is also an established actress herself.

She has starred in the Channel 4 series The Gathering, and also appeared in shows such as Archie and The Boiling Point.

In February she release the single, Shade of Red.
