Grieving widow’s shock request in letter for alleged Aussie killers in Bali
Grieving widow Jazmyn Gourdeas lost her husband Zivan Radmanovic in a Bali shooting gone wrong. Now, she’s penned a letter revealing why she wants his alleged killers to pay for it.
By Court Correspondent, Denpasar – March 2, 2026
In a raw and unflinching letter delivered to the Denpasar District Court, Jazmyn Gourdeas has demanded the ultimate price for the three Australian men accused of gunning down her husband Zivan “Stipe” Radmanovic in a luxury Bali villa last June.
The mother of six, still shattered nine months after the gangland-style ambush, has urged judges to impose Indonesia’s maximum penalty — death by firing squad or life imprisonment — declaring that “human life is sacred” and any lesser sentence would fail to deliver justice.

“I write with deep respect for this Court and the gravity of the decision before it,” Gourdeas stated in the February 10 letter, parts of which were made public this week. “I am the widow of a man who was deliberately killed in Bali last year. Nothing can bring my husband back, but the sentence imposed will define how justice, deterrence, and the value of human life are upheld in this jurisdiction.”
She slammed suggestions of 17- or 18-year terms as “profoundly disproportionate”, arguing the premeditated execution-style killing of a father of six warranted the harshest punishment available under Indonesian law.
“If the deliberate killing of a husband and father does not warrant the maximum penalty available under Indonesian law, then what does? Justice must do more than punish. It must deter. It must protect and affirm, with ambiguity, that human life is sacred.”
Gourdeas referenced Indonesia’s tough stance on serious crimes involving foreigners, citing the Bali Nine drug smuggling executions, and pleaded for a sentence that sends an unmistakable message against organised violence.
The letter marks the latest heartbreaking chapter in a tragedy that began on the night of June 14, 2025, at the upscale Villa Casa Santisya near Munggu Beach in Bali’s Badung regency.

UPDATE – Australian Shooting in Bali: One Suspect Arrested, Another Still at Large – The Bali Times
Police tape cordons off Villa Casa Santisya in Munggu, Bali, the luxury holiday home where Zivan Radmanovic was shot dead.
Radmanovic, 32, a Melbourne father-of-six, was holidaying with his wife Jazmyn, her sister Daniella and Daniella’s partner Sanar Ghanim — a man with known underworld links and reportedly the intended target of a paid hit.
In the early hours, intruders armed with 9mm handguns smashed into the villa. Jazmyn hid under the bedcovers as chaos erupted. Zivan was shot dead in the bathroom. Sanar Ghanim was wounded but survived the attack. Prosecutors say the raid was a botched contract killing arranged from Australia, with the three accused flown in specifically to carry it out.
The accused — Sydney plumber Darcy Jenson (27), Paya Middlemore-Tipo (27) and Mevlut Koskun (22) — have been on trial for months in Denpasar facing premeditated murder charges. All three could still receive the death penalty.
During proceedings, Jenson read a brief apology in court: “I deeply regret my choices… I would like to apologise to Jazmyn for what has happened, for what Jazmyn went through.” The other two remained silent.
Defence lawyers have argued the shooting was not intended as murder but a “debt scare” or intimidation gone horribly wrong, though police evidence, including CCTV, ballistics and witness statements, points to a calculated ambush.

Three Australian men accused of killing Zivan Radmanovic in Bali could face death penalty – ABC News
One of the accused Australian men is led by Indonesian police during the high-profile Bali murder investigation.
The trial has been marked by high emotion. Gourdeas, fearing for her safety after a break-in at her empty Melbourne home, withdrew from giving evidence in person but has made her voice heard through written pleas and her lawyer.
Her teenage son also travelled to Bali and delivered his own devastating letter, telling judges his father’s murder had handed him a “life sentence” of grief and begging for the killers to receive life imprisonment or death “to set Dad’s soul free”.
The family’s pain has been compounded by the latest courtroom twist. On March 1, after flying from Australia expecting verdicts, the Radmanovic-Gourdeas clan was blindsided when judges abruptly adjourned sentencing for another week without explanation.
“What a joke,” one family member told reporters outside court. “We came all this way for justice and they just send us home again.”

Gourdeas has repeatedly criticised any moves toward leniency by prosecutors, insisting the crime’s brutality — a father executed in front of his wife during what should have been a joyful family holiday — demands the full force of Indonesian law.
In her February letter she wrote: “My children will grow up without their father. They will carry lifelong emotional trauma, financial hardship, and the daily absence of his love, guidance, and protection. They will also grow up knowing that those responsible for their father’s death may one day return to their lives after a limited term of imprisonment.”
Zivan Radmanovic has been remembered by loved ones as a devoted family man, “the best dad in the world” and a “loving husband” whose life was cut short in a case of mistaken identity that has shocked both Australian and Balinese communities.
As the three accused await their fate in a Denpasar prison, the widow’s powerful words hang over the courtroom: life is sacred, and justice must reflect that truth.
The family now faces another anxious wait until next week’s rescheduled hearing, hoping the Indonesian justice system will deliver the closure they desperately seek.”NO MERCY!” The bone-chilling reason an Aussie widow wants her husband’s alleged Bali executioners to suffer the ultimate price!
