Meghan joined a college friend for the interview

Meghan Markle has been accused of “rude and obnoxious” behaviour during a recent interview at Godmothers bookstore.

On Thursday (October 23), the Duchess of Sussex made an appearance at the bookstore in support of friend, Courtney Adamo.

The event promoted Courtney’s new family-focused interior design book, The Family Home: Inspiring Ideas for a Home Filled with Joy.

The author and businesswoman, a sorority sister of Meghan’s at Northwestern University, co-founded popular UK parenting blog, Babyccino Kids.

Meghan Markle in Godmothers interview

Meghan joined Courtney for a livestream interview, which was broadcast on Instagram and Substack.

The conversation was titled “Compare Notes on Creating a Home That’s Filled With Joy”.

During the discussion, Meghan delighted fans with some cute new details about her life at home with Prince Harry, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

She revealed some of her young family of four’s traditions, which include always starting the day by putting music on, lighting scenting candles around the house, and cuddling up with a “healing blanket” when one of the kids feels unwell.

Meghan also shared one of her favourite parenting techniques, which involves asking her kids to share their highlight and lowlight at the end of every day.

“Our daughter, she’s four and she’s a very strong personality and she’s incredible. And now she’s in this moment where I say, ‘What’s your rose and your thorn?’ And she goes, ‘My day was just a blast,’” Meghan reportedly said.

The pair also reportedly reminisced about their college days, sharing fond memories of backpacking through France together during spring break.

Meghan also reportedly supplied bottles of her As Ever wine for guests after the event.

However, the duchess has since received some criticism for her behaviour at the event, after a clip in which she seems to speak over Courtney circulated on social media.

Meghan ‘took over the whole show’

In the video, shared on X, Meghan appears to cut Courtney off as she begins to answer a question.

Courtney breaks off, looking bemused, as Meghan loudly tells the crowd: “So glad you guys get to meet Courtney as well.”

“Meghan just can’t stop!” A shocked viewer captioned the video. “The interviewer (it seems) is asking Courtney a question and Meghan just bulldozes forward!”

“It’s literally an evening to discuss the other lady’s book she just published,” they then added.

Another person also jumped in to say: “That poor girl looked shocked with way Meghan took over the whole show.”

“So rude and obnoxious,” said somebody else, while another viewer called her “mannerless”.

However, others loved seeing Meghan and Courtney together. One said: “[Meghan] is so genuine and literally the best hostess. I have so much to learn from her and also her friendship with Courtney!! So beautiful.”

Another added: “It was enjoyable to listen to Meghan and her long-time friend, Courtney Adamo.”
