A crime drama on Netflix has been deemed so good viewers can’t stop watching it, with the series being described as “outstanding”.

We all need a good show to tune into sometimes, and Netflix fans are raving about a certain offering that’s so gripping they are binging it all at once. The TV drama has been deemed a must-watch by many, as they can’t get enough of it, and they’re now encouraging others to watch it too.

It was recently brought to people’s attention on Reddit, when a social media user was looking for advice on what to watch next. Many were quick to recommend one show that’s available on Netflix that had them hooked from the start, and they couldn’t help but binge it as fast as they could.

This isn’t the only show on Netflix to have grabbed people’s attention lately either. Earlier this month, viewers also raved about another series that’s been deemed one of the best.

The person said: “Looking for a new series to binge. We’ve just finished watching Nurse Jackie and need a new series to fill the void.

“It doesn’t have to be a medical drama, but it would be great if it had multiple seasons. We like characters with substance, plots that aren’t cliche or predictable, and a little humour in the mix. Does anyone have any recommendations?”

One person quickly replied: “Depends what you like, but they now have Southland and it’s great.” To this, another added: “Just finished binge watching this one. Yes. So, so good!”

A third said: “Currently binging, loving it.” In a different thread, someone wrote: “I’m doing a binge rewatch on Netflix also. I’m amazed how well the show holds up and how much I’m still enjoying it.”

Meanwhile, someone else commented: “Started watching on Netflix a few days ago. Cannot stop. Outstanding show. If you have not seen the show give it a shot.”

One more also noted: “I watched it years ago and, now that it’s back on Netflix, I’m binge watching it again. One of the best and most realistic cop shows on TV.”

Many admitted it’s “outstanding”, and encouraged others to tune in if they haven’t already. It’s clear it’s deemed as a very underrated watch.

What is it about?

If you haven’t seen Southland before, it’s an American crime drama created by writer Ann Biderman and produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros Television. It originally aired on NBC for one series in 2009, and then moved to TNT for an additional four seasons.

Now, it’s available for people to view on Netflix, which is why so many people are just discovering it. It basically takes a “raw look” at Los Angeles and the lives of the LAPD officers who work to police it.

In the first series, focus is placed on the experiences and interactions of LAPD patrol officers and detectives. It starts out as a character-driven drama as opposed to a police procedural.

Different characters are studied throughout other series, but many admit it’s totally gripping viewing. Even today, people are rewatching it because they think it’s so good.
