Terrifying home invasion caught on camera in Brisbane

A Brisbane couple has been left fearing for their lives after four armed intruders broke into their home, threatening to shoot them.

Elena Parolin and her husband, both aged in their 60s, were asleep upstairs in their Skyview Ave home in Rochdale when they heard a loud bang in the early hours of Monday morning.

When Parolin went downstairs about 5.15am to investigate, she found four intruders ransacking her home.

In security camera vision captured from inside the property, the young men can be heard saying “get the gun, get the gun, shoot her shoot her” before blood curdling screams ring out.

“I just felt that I was going to lose my life this morning,” Parolin said.

“I didn’t know whether it was going to be by a gunshot or by a knife, but I just felt like I shouldn’t have to feel so unsafe in my own home.

“My husband and I were minding our own business, for people to intrude into my home, armed, and threatening me with my life.”

When Parolin threatened to call police, one of the thieves knocked her phone out of her hand, cutting and fracturing her finger, which required hospital treatment.

The incident was the second time the couple’s home has been targeted by thieves in the past six months.

Police are still searching for the four offenders and believe they may be connected to a number of other crimes across Brisbane’s south side.
