Prince Harry could be set to receive some very positive news within weeks.

Prince Harry is optimistic that he has won his fight for automatic taxpayer-funded armed police protection in the UK, a source close to the Sussexes has claimed. The ruling is reportedly set to take place within weeks.
Despite previously losing a court case to allow him armed security when he visits the UK, Harry penned a request for a review of his security arrangements to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood in September 2025. This was when he was given police protection for one day during his visit to the Wellchild Awards in the UK that month.
The 41-year-old has previously stated that he believes it is unsafe for his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet, to visit his home country without full-time police protection.
According to the Daily Mail on Sunday, sources close to the Sussexes has said that the reinstatement of armed security has been assured after a fresh risk assessment was carried out for the royal and VIP executive committee (Ravec).
Sources said: “It’s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is now nailed on for Harry.”
There is, however, said to be one thing that could stand in the way. A source said: “[The] only thing that could scupper his approval now would be an intervention from the Palace.”
In his letter to the Home Secretary, Harry asked him to “abide by its own rules”, which state that the risk-management board should assess each member of the Royal Family and other qualifying VIPs every year.

The last assessment was carried out in 2020, the same year that Harry and his family moved to the US.
The approval of security in the UK could mean that King Charles may be set to reunite with Archie and Lilibet for the first years since 2022.
The King, 77, is said to be eager to see his two youngest grandchildren, whom he hasn’t seen since they were aged three and one.
