Why is Love Island All Stars not on tonight?
Love Island fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of the hit reality show, but the highly anticipated launch for the third series of All Stars has been unexpectedly delayed.
The decision came after producers were forced to evacuate the villa in South Africa because of raging wildfires spreading near the filming location.
Love Island All Stars, which was due to start on Monday, January 12, 2026, has now been postponed as ITV bosses deal with the unfolding situation.
Host Maya Jama and the contestants were due to begin final preparations ahead of the live launch on ITV2.
However, fires broke out dangerously close to the luxury estate housing the new villa, sparking safety concerns and forcing ITV to halt operations.
An ITV spokesperson said: “Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed.
“Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.”
The wildfires were fuelled by temperatures reaching 34C, with strong winds worsening the situation.
Flames spread within two miles of the villa, located in the Western Cape’s wine region of Franschhoek, prompting the immediate safety measures.
Crew members were evacuated from the site on Friday – just as production teams were gearing up for the contestants’ arrival.
On January 10, a source told The Sun: “This is a massive nightmare for ITV but they’re doing everything they can to keep the show on track.
“Bosses will take another call today and the series is expected to air later this week.
“Everyone is safe and the crew are going to play it by ear as to when it is safe for the contestants to enter the villa.”
When will series 3 start?
As of January 12, ITV is yet to confirm a new official launch date, but sources suggested the show could still go ahead later this week if conditions improve.
Safety checks and risk assessments are being carried out, with production teams working closely with local emergency services to monitor the fire.
The same source revealed that families of contestants had contacted the show’s producers to ensure their loved ones were out of harm’s way.
They added: “The ash cloud over the villa also posed a risk from residue potentially falling onto the contestants.
“Some crew members returned to the site on Saturday but the contestants and Maya remained in their villas.
“ITV will always put the welfare of the cast and crew above the programme.”
On January 11, an insider told us: “Bosses have no choice but to wait for the area to be deemed completely safe.
“The desire is to be back as soon as possible, but risk and health and safety assessments are still ongoing.”
