A 23-year-old man has been found dead after a suspected dog attack on a rural property in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services rushed to a property on Badgally Rd in Eschol Park shortly before midday on Wednesday after reports a man’s body had been discovered.

Officers arrived and found the 23-year-old deceased with significant injuries.

A crime scene was established as detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Police said initial inquiries indicate the man may have been attacked by animals before he died.

2GB reported up to eight dogs were on the property, with the animals allegedly unregistered and not microchipped.

The exact cause of death is yet to be determined, with investigators continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the NSW Coroner.
