BBC iPlayer has quietly added a suspenseful thriller that was so scary viewers had to walk out halfway.

We are referring to the 2022 hidden gem Fall, which stars The Walking Dead favourite Jeffrey Dean Morgan, alongside Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner.

It follows adrenaline-seeking best friends Becky (Currey) and Hunter (Gardner) as they take on a daring 2,000 feet climb. But what starts as an adventure quickly turns into a nightmare.

After climbing to the top of a stranded radio tower, the duo find themselves completely stranded with no way down. Their climbing skills are put to the test as they fight for survival.

Fans of films such as 47 Metres Down, which follows two sisters trapped in a shark cage in the ocean, will be instantly hooked by this thriller.

Despite flying under the radar for many moviegoers, Fall still bagged an impressive 79% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The critics shared a positive consensus, stating: “Fundamentally absurd yet as evocatively minimalist as its title, Fall is a sustained adrenaline rush for viewers willing to suspend disbelief.”

A casual viewer on the rating website was also won over, although they found some scenes too scary. They penned: “I literally had to turn away and walk out of the room at times because the height scenes scared me so much.. love it one of my favourite movies kept me so on edge.”

Someone else chimed in, praising the thriller’s unexpected twist. “I definitely DID NOT expect the twist it had and totally made me gasp,” they said.

“Also I usually don like movies where everything happens at one place only, however this ONE!! DID keep me interested all the time and wondering, how the hell will they get out of this situation, will they at all and will they die?”

While a third reviewer praised: “Watched this so many times and it never gets old. It’s so thrilling and intense.

“No joke, I watched this with my Nanna and she usually falls asleep watching movies but this film kept her hooked, her eyes were open the whole time. A must see.”
