A man has been charged with attempted murder after a neighbourhood dispute in Sydney’s south-west descended into a stabbing that left a father and son fighting for life.
Shane Hunt, 56, and his son Shane Junior, 37, shared an emotional moment after coming out of surgery today, embracing each other while covered in bandages following a violent brawl in Girraween yesterday.
Police said a trio of men, aged 30, 37, and 56, were involved in an altercation just before 3.30 pm.

CCTV footage appears to show a man dressed in black approaching the door of the Western Sydney property before being confronted by one of the men, who was armed with a chair.
The man is seen trying to fend off the alleged attacker using the chair before a violent brawl unfolds, spilling into the backyard of the home.
It’s alleged the knife-wielding attacker stabbed both men several times.
The father and son suffered several stab wounds to their torso, while the alleged attacker suffered injuries to his arms.

“A couple of kids from that house came out running and asked me to call the cops,” a resident told 9News.
“I walked up to the house, [and] there was a younger man standing at the porch, there was another man lying down, and he was saying ‘this man has attacked me, I have been stabbed’.”
“It was really scary to see because my kids were all at home and they all came out, it was not a good sight to look at,” another resident told 9News.
Police are now trying to determine the motive behind the alleged attack.
