Photos appear to show the tip of the 10-month-old baby’s right ring finger completely detached.
A baby’s finger has allegedly been severed at a childcare centre in Queensland’s Lockyer Valley, sparking an investigation.
The incident involving the 10-month-old is believed to have occurred at the Active Kids Early Learning Laidley 2 Centre, also known as Free Range Kids Laidley 2 Centre, on February 24.
Photos obtained by The Chronicle appear to show the tip of the baby’s right ring finger completely detached.

The Queensland Department of Education confirmed it was aware of the incident in a statement to 7NEWS.com.au.
“The Regulatory Authority is aware of a matter involving a child sustaining a finger injury which required medical attention,” a spokesperson said.
“As the incident is currently under investigation, no further information can be provided.
“Protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of children attending early childhood education and care services is the number one priority of the Queensland Early Childhood Regulatory Authority.”
Active Kids Early Learning, a privately run childcare provider owned by the Campbell family, operates several centres across Queensland’s Lockyer Valley, between Toowoomba and Brisbane.
