Married At First Sight couple Julia Vogl and Grayson McIvor called time on their relationship during Sunday night’s episode.

Julia, 35, told the experts at the third Commitment Ceremony that she had been trying really hard to form a romantic connection with Grayson, 35, but admitted that sparks were not flying.

‘I really took on your advice that kissing leads to more kissing. So we kissed a lot, but nothing unfolded from there. So, I did a pulse check,’ Julia told the experts.

‘Is there a burning desire here? I realised I didn’t think the romantic side of this connection was really flourishing, so I wrote Grayson a letter, letting him know this wasn’t the soul connection I came into this experiment for.’

Grayson added he felt that continuing to try to form a connection with his TV wife would not be good for either of them.

‘The energy, the emotion, has just gone to waste! She is not physically or emotionally present. This has been recurring,’ Grayson chipped in.

Grayson said that he did not feel supported by his TV wife and was left with no choice but to end the relationship – to which Julia said the feeling was mutual

‘Julia is all words. Whenever I want to talk, I can’t. [I asked her] Do you want to have a family one day… [She said] “I’d like the option to have a family”.

‘Everything is airy fairy, there is no certainty, I just want clarity!’

Julia admitted they were not speaking the same love language.

Grayson wanted clear black-and-white answers, while she believed some matters were more nuanced and could not be answered with a blunt yes or no.

‘I call it nuanced, you call it vague. I just feel so unseen for what I put into this connection,’ she said.

Grayson responded that he did not feel supported by his TV wife and was left with no choice but to end the relationship – to which Julia said the feeling was mutual.

‘I am exhausted, I have nothing left in the tank. I gave it everything that I have got, and for that I am so proud. I am so shattered, I want love so bad,’ Grayson admitted, while breaking down in tears.

The pair then both wrote ‘Leave’ as they chose to call time on their relationship and exit the experiment.

‘Our time is up here. I choose to leave,’ Grayson said, as both he and Julia walked out of the Commitment Ceremony.

Trouble had already been brewing when the newlyweds of MAFS celebrated one month in the experiment on Tuesday.

The milestone moment came with heartache for Grayson, who had been hoping for sparks to fly with Julia for four weeks.

The controversial former journalist used the couple’s anniversary to write an ‘authentic’ letter about their relationship – which confirmed the groom’s worst fears.

‘That burning desire we have both spoken about doesn’t seem to be growing,’ she told her heartbroken husband.

Elsewhere during the episode, Melissa Akbay and Luke Fourniotis decided to call time on their relationship, with the pair admitting it was an amicable split.

‘I couldn’t have foreseen how hard this experiment would be,’ Mel told Luke.

‘I am really happy I met Luke, I hope we can stay friends, but I have decided to Leave,’ she added.

Luke agreed they could continue to see each other – just not romantically.
