A New Year’s Eve celebration at Pinkhouse Dallas turned into a terrifying nightmare when gunfire erupted in the parking lot, leaving rising rapper Zeethewizard critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds and four other victims hospitalized.

The shooting occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on January 1 during the club’s grand opening near Empire Central and North Stemmons Freeway. Dallas Police responded to reports of an “altercation” that escalated into chaos, with witnesses describing pure pandemonium as shots rang out.
“Everyone was in panic,” one eyewitness told WFAA. “People pushing, shoving, screaming — some fled in helplessness. It was terrifying.” The rapper, real name Zec’Quire Cannon Grant Fields, was performing earlier to a crowd that included family members before the tragedy unfolded.
Zeethewizard, 25, part of Dallas’ “New Dallas” movement promoting unity in hip-hop, remains on life support in critical condition at a North Texas hospital. Family confirmed he was shot multiple times, surrounded by loved ones as they limit visitors for safety. Social media flooded with tributes, but false death rumors prompted pleas for privacy.
The incident injured five total, with four hospitalized. Police have not named suspects or motives, but investigators cite an altercation in the lot. Pinkhouse management expressed devastation, cooperating fully while praying for victims.
Zeethewizard, a top prospect with tracks like “Let Me Find Out (Fanned Out),” was gaining national traction, reportedly signing with Future’s label. Dallas Observer named him among top 20 rappers to watch in 2025. Collaborators like BigXthaPlug and Davante Peters mourn his talent and community spirit.
The hip-hop community holds its breath, awaiting updates amid Dallas’ violent crime stats. Video footage circulates rapidly but is graphic — not for the faint-hearted.
As Zeethewizard fights, fans pray for a miracle in this senseless tragedy.
