DISTURBING INCIDENT LEAVES RESIDENTS SHAKEN… – Police are investigating after a naked man wearing a balaclava allegedly jumped from bushes in Brisbane’s Sunnybank Hills and performed an obscene act in front of members of the public.
A mystery man wearing nothing but a balaclava has burst out of bushes in the dead of night to ‘aggressively’ masturbate in front of two unsuspecting women.
The incident, captured on a mobile phone camera, occurred about 1am on Saturday in Sunnybank Hills, 15km south of the Brisbane CBD.
The women, both 20, endured the terrifying ten-minute ordeal – which included the sex attacker muttering obscenities as he performed his sex act – until police arrived.
But locals have revealed it is not the first time it has happened, with the notorious offender previously pulling an almost identical stunt nearby months earlier.
His latest victims had visited a 7-Eleven store on Pinelands Road before sitting on the kerb near Vivace Music and Royal Bali Spa, which were both closed for the night.
‘We were chatting for no more than five to ten minutes,’ one of the women revealed online.
‘Initially we heard what sounded like rustling behind us by the bushes, but I played it off as possums.
‘As we got up to head home, right by the bushes near the Royal Bali Spa, a Caucasian man in his 40s-50s jumped out of the bushes wearing nothing but a black balaclava, fully naked, aggressively w***ing and touching himself.

He was ‘aggressively’ touching himself as he emerged from the bushes
‘He said something at us but I can’t recall. Initially I thought he was some random man or homeless before I realised he was masturbating.’
The women screamed and ran across the road, while the man chased them.
As they cowered by a bus stop, they said the man continued to stare at them while touching himself, as one of his victims tried to record the incident for police.
‘I took photos,’ said the woman.
‘My friend called the police, and we yelled at him that [the police] are on their way.
‘Thankfully they came in ten minutes, asked us questions and sent out more officers to search the area.
‘I’m unsure who that man was, what his motives were or what really happened because it was so fast. I’m also unsure if we were followed or if this was targeted.’
The woman said her pictures of the incident were blurry because she was so scared and shaking with fear.

Nearby local businesses were closed at the time, and did not know about the incident

The two women were sitting near the Royal Bali Spa chatting when the man emerged
‘Please, please, please be careful and wary of your surroundings,’ she said.
‘I’m just shocked this occurred in a well-lit area that I thought was safe.’
The grainy images appear to show the man has tattoos on his right forearm and bicep.
Hundreds of Brisbane locals commented on the Reddit thread to condemn the incident and praise the pair for calling police.
One person said his partner, also in her 20s, had also had a similar encounter at a nearby school that they believe involved the same man.
‘[She] encountered this person a few months back when she was walking at around 11pm,’ he said.
‘He was spotted near a school in Sunnybank.
‘[He was] on the other side of the school fence, calling her names while [masturbating].
‘She can’t figure it out how he even got inside the school late at night since there are tall gates and fences around.’
The couple have since moved away from the area after the incident.
Businesses and residents in the area on Monday told the Daily Mail they had not seen or heard about the incident.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Queensland Police confirmed they were called to a reported indecent exposure incident at Sunnybank Hills on Saturday, 4 July.
‘Officers were initially called to Pinelands Road around 1am, following reports of a man approaching two women, not known to them,’ the spokesperson said.
‘Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate the man, despite subsequent patrols of the area.
‘Investigations into this report are ongoing, and police are calling for witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward.’
