The co-hosts of The View didn’t speak out when Jimmy Kimmel was suspended from ABC, despite their shows airing on the same network

The ViewThe hosts of The View have spoken out after failing to address Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension at ABC.

The longtime ABC host had his show pre-empted by the network following controversial comments he made about the murder of Charlie Kirk. Two episodes of The View aired following Kimmel’s axe, but the hosts failed to mention the drama.

That all changed on Monday night, however, as Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin shared their thoughts on the suspension. It came as ABC announced it will be reinstating Kimmel’s show.

She continued, “I mean, look, did y’all really think we were not gonna talk about Jimmy Kimmel? I mean, have you watched the show over the last 29 seasons?”

Sharing a warning to ABC, Goldberg added, “You know, no one silences us.”

The host also pointed out how they had waited to comment when Stephen Colbert’s show was canceled by CBS. Getting into things, she said, “But we are live here today. And we’re getting into it now.”

Goldberg fumed, “The government can not apply pressure to force someone to be silenced.” The View then showed clips of Ted Cruz and Rand Paul speaking about the Kimmel drama.

Afterwards, Goldberg had a message for Donald Trump as she said, “I don’t understand how you are the man in charge of the nation and you still don’t understand how the First Amendment works.”
