Greg Gutfeld certainly didn’t hold back as he gave fans a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes at The Five when he had a run-in with Jesse Watters

Backstage at Fox News’ The Five, host Greg Gutfeld revealed his off-camera antics in a new video posted on the show’s official Instagram account as he gears up for Thursday’s show.
Donning a white polo and black trousers and clutching a pile of scripts, Gutfeld began, “It’s Greg Gutfeld. I’m getting ready to go do The Five. You know what he says he’s doing?” pointing toward Jesse Watters, who is nonchalantly eating a salad while conversing with a colleague.
Mockingly, Gutfeld ranted, “He’s eating a salad because he’s a wimp. He’s a loser. He’s a nobody. Look at him. Look at him. Listen to him,” even as Watters seems to pay him no mind.
Gutfeld probes his co-host, “Who are you talking about? What are you trying to do?” but receives no reply.
Despite Watters’ apparent disinterest, Gutfeld vents, “He’s embarrassing. I don’t know why he’s still here. We tried to get rid of him,” before urging viewers, “Anyway. Enjoy the show.”

The Instagram caption playfully notes, “@realgreggutfeld shows you what @jessewatters does before the show,” Despite the jesting tension behind the scenes, fans were clearly amused by the banter, as reflected in their reactions to the clip and the enjoyment of Thursday’s episode.
One fan wrote, “Haha, Greg is awesome,” while another said, “You’re hilarious, Greg Gutfeld! Talking s— about Jesse and eating his salad.” A third fan also weighed in, “Jesse knows how to handle the situation.”
The show’s atmosphere also received comments, with one viewer noting, “The vibe of today’s show is so fun. I wonder what has changed?” while another chimed in, “Good show today. I really enjoyed Harold.
“Thank you, no Tarlov today!!! I will watch,” a fifth viewer expressed, clearly relieved at the absence of Democratic Party political strategist Jessica Tarlov, who often butts heads with panelist Jesse.
“Instead of asking yourself why Jesse’s still there you need to ask yourself why is Jessica still there,” a sixth viewer suggested, hinting at ongoing tensions on the panel.
This week saw Jesse lock horns with Tarlov over the Democrats’ “bucketload” of talent as they head towards 2026, engaging in a heated exchange as they debated their perspectives.

Greg questioned Jessica about where this “bucketload” of talent was hiding, prompting her retort, “The bench is in plain sight, you just don’t want to acknowledge it.” He pressed further, inquiring, ” Where is it?” to which the strategist responded, “It’s Andy Beshear.”
Before she could elaborate, Jesse interjected, questioning, “Andy Beshear? Oh, did he speak at the convention in Chicago? He didn’t speak. Did they say anything that anybody remembers at Chicago’s convention?”
As she finally got a chance to speak, Jessica erupted, “Are you kidding me? Just talk about being in the wilderness. We’ll get it together. I would like to bring out some winners from your bucket, though your bench. Carrie Lake, Mark Robinson, and Doug Mastriano were floating, going against Josh Shapiro again, which won’t end well for him.
“And they’re freaking out in Texas about Ken Paxton winning this primary, because he’s not going to be able to do as well in a general election as John Cornyn. What do you say to that? How’s your bench?” she probed.
Jesse retorted, “I like our starting five, I like Rubio, Hegseth, Vance, and Noem. You don’t even have a starting five,” while Tarlov countered, “Yeah, we do!”.
“No, you don’t. You’re talking about your bench. You guys can’t even get into warm-ups,” Jesse fired back.
