Rylan Clark caused a furore with remarks he made last August.

Viewers threatened to switch off ITV’s flagship daytime show This Morning as Rylan Clark returned to the sofa on Friday February 6, just over five months after his controversial comments about immgration led to 576 OfCom complaints. Hosting alongside Emma Willis he didn’t address the controversy or his long absence but viewers had not forgotten about it and took to social media to air their views on his comeback.
Taking to X one complained: “Damn not @Rylan hosting #ThisMorning today. Won’t be watching that lol.” Another added: “Good to see it’s @reformparty_uk day on @thismorning with everyone’s favourite reform idiot @Rylan ……..no we’ve not forgotten the comments on immigrants!!” a third chimed in: “Please @thismorning NO MORE RYLAN.” Meanwhile a fourth simply wrote: “Oh god it’s Rylan #thismorning.” The presenter did have some supporters though, and they posted their delight at seeing him back on screens after his long break.
“It’s good to see Rylan presenting the show today, and that he hasn’t been cancelled, despite the cries of the snowflakes,” one penned.
“So so pleased to see Rylan back on the programme this morning and a great pairing with Emma,” another shared.
Rylan caused uproar on August 27 last year when he issued a candid statement about his views about illegal immigration, sharing he finds it “absolutely insane” that people come across to England on small boats to be greeted with seemingly endless luxuries, including iPads.
“This country is built on immigration. Legal immigration — a lot of the nurses, the doctors that have saved my mum’s life have come over here from other countries. They’re living a great life, they’re paying into this tax system, they’re helping this country thrive,” he said.

But he blasted the surge in dangerous Channel crossings, adding: “I find it absolutely insane that all these people are risking their lives coming across the Channel.
“And when they get here, it does seem, and I think this is why a lot of Labour voters as well are saying there’s something wrong, it feels like, ‘Welcome, come on in’. That’s the narrative we’re being fed,” he said.
Rylan continued: “Here’s the iPad. Here’s the NHS in reception of your hotel. Here’s three meals a day. Here’s a games room in the hotel. Have a lovely time and welcome.” He went on to contrast this with people already living in Britain who are struggling.
“There are people that have lived here all their lives that are struggling. They’re homeless. Let’s not even discuss our homeless. There are people living on the streets, veterans, all of this,” he said.
