Sunny Hostin is opening up about the warning her The View co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg gave her while navigating menopause.

On Sunday, Sept. 21, the former prosecutor, 56, spoke during the Reinvention & Renewal: Living Fully in Midlife panel alongside Tembi Locke and Allison Gilbert at 92NY and shared that she currently going through menopause.

Hostin explained that she’s dealing with a lot of “blunt” changes — especially in her attitude and mindset — that her co-hosts told her would happen.

“I just got into menopause. So, you know, I’ve been in perimenopause, it feels like forever. And these little things are happening,” she explained. “Like I defrost food and then I come home and I don’t wanna cook. And my husband says, Ooh, what’s for dinner? I don’t know. You know, it’s a lot of that going on.”

“There’s a lot of just blunt stuff going on for me. But I’m centering myself for the first time in a really long time, or maybe since I was 25,” she continued. “Maybe it’s the first time I’m centering myself. And that’s the one great thing Joy Behar told me that that would happen. I didn’t believe her. Whoopi told me that would happen. I didn’t believe her. And it has happened. I do not care. And I am, I’ve centered myself finally.”

In recent years, Hostin has been vocal about prioritizing herself and how she feels.

In March 2024, she shared that she was taking a GLP-1 medication to help lose weight after gaining 40 lbs. due to menopause and the COVID-19 pandemic. She said her health completely turned around and she saw a difference within a month.

“I think these medications are changing lives and saving lives,” Hostin explained. “We were home for 18 months. I became a mixologist, I drank a lot of margaritas, a lot of sidecars. I love to cook anyway, I baked a lot of bread. … I had gone up 4 sizes. What you see now is what I looked like before the pandemic, before menopause. My husband says, ‘Oh wow, you look like what you looked like when I met you.’ “
