How to Get to Heaven From Belfast trailer
Netflix has unveiled an exciting new trailer for its highly anticipated series, How to Get to Heaven From Belfast.
Created by Lisa McGee, the mastermind behind the hit comedy Derry Girls, the show follows three friends who launch a dangerous investigation into the death of a former schoolmate.
Shot in Belfast throughout 2024, with scenes filmed at the Harbourview (formerly Londonderry Arms) Hotel in Carnlough, the eight-episode drama offers a darker yet still hilarious journey from the celebrated screenwriter.
The series stars Roisin Gallagher as Saoirse, Sinéad Keenan as Robyn, and Caoilfhionn Dunne as Dana, alongside Emmett J. Scanlan, Bronagh Gallagher, Natasha O’Keeffe, Michelle Fairley, and Ardal O’Hanlon.
A gripping trailer dropped today (Thursday, 15th January), showing the three women learning of their friend Greta’s tragic death and their emotional reunion, reports Belfast Live.

O’Hanlon’s character Seamus, who runs a “creepy” small-town hotel, claims she died after “falling down the stairs” – a revelation that immediately raises suspicions amongst the group.
When they secretly peer inside Greta’s coffin at her purported funeral, they discover their friend might not actually be dead after all, prompting them to dig deeper and uncover what really happened. The trailer is brimming with McGee’s trademark dry wit and snappy dialogue, and coupled with an intriguing mystery, How to Get to Heaven From Belfast is shaping up to be a must-watch new series for both Derry Girls aficionados and newcomers alike.

Netflix’s latest trailer has also revealed the release date for the series, with all eight episodes set to land on Thursday, 12th February, meaning there’s less than a month left to wait.
The official synopsis from Netflix states: “Clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse; glamorous, stressed-out mother of three Robyn; and dependable, inhibited carer Dara have been a tight-knit group since school.

“Now in their late 30s, but still as close as ever, these three friends are about to embark on the most thrilling adventure of their lives.
“When an email arrives, informing them about the death of the estranged fourth member of their childhood gang, a series of eerie events at her wake sets them on a dark, dangerous, and hilarious journey through Ireland and beyond as each tries to piece together the truth about the past.”

McGee gave a tantalising preview of the series at Tudum, stating: “We got the gang back together – the creative team behind Derry Girls has reunited to bring you How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.
“This is the show I’ve always wanted to make; a mash‐up of my two favourite genres, mystery and comedy. We want to keep you guessing and keep you laughing.
“I can’t wait for you to meet Saoirse, Robyn and Dara, and go on this wild, weird adventure with them – an Irish odyssey – full of twists, turns, and arguments about eyelash extensions.”
