Last weekend, the Strictly family had to say another goodbye to a celebrity contestant and their pro partner ahead of Blackpool Week.

Strictly fans who tuned into the latest round of the BBC dance competition said goodbye to Vicky Pattison and her partner Kai, who were the latest pair to be eliminated. The outcome of the dreaded dance-off between Vicky and Balvinder, filmed immediately after Saturday’s live show, was not officially announced until Sunday’s results show. Despite the BBC’s best efforts to keep the spoilers secret for 24 hours, the identities of the eliminated pairings have been regularly leaked online since 2012. Once again, this year has been no different, but a bizarre theory emerged with Vicky’s exit, sparking chaos for 24 hours before her departure was officially announced.

According to The Sun, they reported: “Because it wasn’t just her leaving that leaked online, fans also spread the rumour that she crashed out the dance-off because she fell down the stairs at the start of her dance.

“And when one person read that, the news spread like wildfire. So much so, online sites – not this one, obviously – reported it as fact.

“Tweets online read: “Just hearing apparently Vicky had a fall in the dance off and that’s why she left. DEVASTATED IF TRUE. Bless her!!! The day before her Birthday as well.”

The publication also stated the “Strictly Spoiler” mole has now set a precedent that any kind of update about the next celebrity exit is ‘reliable.’

They also said that it is “wildly unfair on fans” and “horrific” for Vicky as her exit was “shrouded in untruth.” They later went on to blame the BBC.

A source said to The Sun: “Spoilers have plagued Strictly for years with fans struggling to avoid finding out who leaves before the Sunday results show airs.

“Now, results are ending up online while the cameras are still rolling. It means there is a whodunnit mystery gripping the set. Bosses are actively looking to catch these moles in the act.”
