Jamal Roberts continues to win hearts following his “American Idol” victory.
The “Heal” singer recently captivated fans with his BET Awards debut, where he showcased his vocal talents both on and off the stage. A standout moment that had fans swooning was his brief yet soulful performance during an interview on “The NeNe Leakes Show.”
NeNe Leakes was treated with a personal mini-concert from Roberts when he serenaded her with Joe’s big hit, “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do).” The Meridian native’s suave moves and soulful voice clearly impressed “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, responding animatedly to every line of the song.

Roberts completed his BET Awards debut with a powerful performance on stage. The “American Idol” champ was one of the artists who paid tribute to Kirk Franklin.
Roberts, Tamar Braxton, Muni Long, and Salt from Salt-N-Pepa performed a medley of Franklin’s hits after he received the Ultimate Icon Award, per Billboard.
“I never felt the love of a mother or a father,” Franklin said during his acceptance speech. “The only time I felt love was when I sat behind the piano and wrote songs to Jesus. People loved my songs and the more I wrote, the more people listened. Thank you to all of you that still listen. Thank you to every group, singer, musician that’s been the microphone to my pain.”
On June 6, Roberts shared a photo of himself with Franklin, hinting at working on a project together. “Cooking up something great this weekend,” he captioned the post.
At the time, it hasn’t been confirmed whether Roberts will be performing at the 2025 BET Awards, particularly the tribute for Franklin.
