The 79-year-old is approaching her 80th birthday milestone, yet shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to her travels or TV work.

The beloved star is reportedly working on another travelogue for ITV, scheduled for broadcast around the time of her landmark birthday celebrations, reports The Mirror.

The Absolutely Fabulous legend is presently in Argentina, shooting another programme featuring her preferred destinations, with previous series visiting India, the Caribbean, Greece, and Japan.

“Travellers couldn’t believe it when they spotted her in the capital city Buenos Aires, particularly as she looked rather like her Ab Fab alter ego, Patsy Stone,” a source revealed to The Sun.

“She was in a bar surrounded by various types of booze while happily puffing away on cigarettes. Joanna was even wearing a little leopard print, just to complete the Ab Fab look.

“But unlike Patsy she was an absolute delight and happily posed for pictures with fellow tourists who came across to say hello and ask for a selfie.”

The New Avengers star initially created the travelogue Joanna Lumley’s Nile in 2010 and has subsequently produced approximately 16 comparable programmes.

Her portfolio encompasses Great Cities Of The World, Silk Road Adventure, and Trans-Siberian Adventure. In her latest travel series, Joanna Lumley’s Danube, she traced the path of one of Europe’s most magnificent waterways, journeying through Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.

Yet, South America remains amongst the handful of continents where she hasn’t filmed a documentary. It appears probable she’ll complete the collection – and venture to Antarctica to mark her 81st birthday.

This follows the acclaimed actress recently opening up about ageing, revealing that her awareness of time’s passage actually motivates her further.

She also admitted she regularly contemplates her own mortality. “As you near the top of the hill you suddenly think, ‘Gosh, there’s not all that amount of time left’,” she revealed in an interview with My Weekly last year.

“All kinds of my beloved friends are beginning to leave. My time must be coming quite soon and I don’t want to have wasted a minute of being on this beautiful planet.”
