IZZY HAMMOND has sped to the top of headlines after her horror Formula E crash.
The 25-year-old was competing in the sport’s Evo Series, which brought together two teams of influencers to compete in time trials against one another with the fastest winning a point for their team.

However, just over a minute into her run around the Jeddah track in Saudi Arabia, Izzy’s lap came to an abrupt end as she crashed into the wall.
Izzy had carried too much speed into the corner and understeered as she attempted to stay on the racing line, ending up with her smashing into the wall and leaving her car totalled with debris across the track.
Fortunately, she quickly confirmed over the team Lola radio that she was fine before the safety car arrived to take her to the medical centre for checks.
Speaking afterwards, Izzy said she had immediately thought of her father, former Top Gear host Richard, and said she just wanted someone to tell him she was okay.
Richard, of course, is no stranger to big crashes and has had more than one near-fatal crash in his career as a motorsport journalist and presenter.
A crash due to a failed tyre on a jet-powered car, Vampire Dragster, at 319mph while filming Top Gear at Elvington Airfield in 2006 left him in a coma for two weeks.
Later, while filming Prime Video’s The Grand Tour in 2017, Richard lost control of a 1,200-hp Rimac Concept One after finishing a hill climb.
The car flipped down a hillside for 110 metres before bursting into flames.
He miraculously escaped with a fractured knee but recalled how he thought he was going to die.
Following her own high-speed crash in the desert on Sunday, Izzy seemed to be in a chipper mood.
She apologised to her team for ruining the car and even joked about the car not being in one piece.
Izzy had 279,000 followers on Instagram before the crash, but saw that number jump to 288,000 in less than 24 hours.
Content creator Izzy works alongside her father as a presenter for DriveTribe, which was founded by Top Gear trio Richard, Jeremy Clarkson and James May in 2015 but did not become active until 2016.
The site moved to a purely social media-based company following the Covid-19 pandemic, with Richard taking creative lead of the brand.
Izzy and Richard work on the car channel, which has 1.1 million followers on Instagram and three million subscribers on YouTube.

She debuted on the channel in 2023, making an instant impression before becoming a full-time presenter for the brand in 2024, dubbed as the “upcoming personality in the world of social media” – a title she has more than lived up to.
They are often seen presenting alongside one another, driving a wide variety of cars and vehicles in a modern spin to rival Top Gear and The Grand Tour which Hammond and Co formerly presented.
The most popular video on the channel, with 23 million views, is of Richard and his daughters, Izzy and Willow, enjoying an off-road adventure in 2019 as he turned 50.
Izzy is the older sister of Willow, who tends to keep her private life out of the public eye and has a far smaller presence on social media.
By contrast, Izzy is more than happy to share life updates online and is often seen posting her holidays and adventures on Instagram, whether it be skiing, going to the theatre or going out with family and friends.
Although likely inspired by her father, the majority of the content is motors-oriented.
In Izzy’s case, it is certainly a like-father-like-daughter lifestyle, with both holding an insatiable appetite for everything petrol and motors.
