A royal commentator says Andrew’s downfall is a warning shot to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were issued a dire warning following Prince Andrew’s latest bombshells. Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday that the disgraced former prince has been stripped of his royal titles and honours by King Charles due to his links to convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

The disgraced royal whose friendship with convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein led to his downfall will effectively have the status of a commoner and will be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Andrew had a “cast-iron” lease for Royal Lodge and only after negotiations with the King’s representatives did he agree to serve formal notice on Thursday to surrender the lease, which had more than 50 years left to run.

Now, a royal commentator has suggested that the King’s decision regarding Andrew’s royal titles could be a warning shot for what the future holds for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harry and Meghan sensationally quit the Royal Family in 2020 but they still retain their titles despite agreeing not to use them for commercial gain.

The Daily Mail’s Maureen Callahan, who regularly comments on the Sussexes, said that it is now “a question of when, not if” the Montecito couple get their titles axed too.

She wrote in her column: “The sun begins to set over Montecito — permanently. Harry and Meghan are next.”

Ms Callahan said that when Prince William ascends to the throne it will be bad news for Harry and Meghan, as Andrew was essentially a “pawn removed by William to clear the way for his real target: Harry.”

She explained: “If William can have convinced the infamously conflict-averse Charles to renounce his own brother — well, Harry’s days as prince and Duke of Sussex are surely numbered.

“As for Meghan? Like Fergie, she would just be collateral damage. An afterthought. Flotsam in search of a shore – perhaps QVC’s Pennsylvania headquarters and where she might shill As Ever overstock on deep discount. Sayonara, Sussexes!”
