GEORGE RUSSELL’S girlfriend Carmen Mundt has undergone emergency surgery after suffering with appendicitis.

The Spanish-born influencer, 28, said her procedure went well and she is now recovering alongside Russell after the brief scare.

Mundt previously updated fans on her condition after suffering a spell of vomiting.

She was forced to postpone a project she had been working on while she focused on her health.

She wrote: “I was planning to share something really special with you today but it will have to wait.

“I’ve been working on a project for almost two years. It will have to wait until I’m back on my feet.

“This is a reminder that life is not as perfect as it looks in social media.

“I’m all good and taken care of. Waiting for some results but basically have been vomiting for 12 hours and they suspect [appendicitus].

“Hopefully it is nothing serious and I can tell you all about it soon.”

She later posted a picture of herself smiling in a hospital bed next to Mercedes star Russell with an update for fans.

Mundt wrote in a caption: “It was appendicitis! Surgery went well and recovering in the best company.”

She added a note about Russell after looking after her operation, writing: “My favourite nurse.”

Mundt and Russell have been dating since 2020. She had planned on meeting a friend of his for a date but he couldn’t make it – so Russell stepped in.

And in an interview with SunSport, he revealed that Mundt didn’t know who he was or anything about F1 when they met.

He said: “My mate couldn’t make it, so I thought I’ll swing along to see how it goes.

“She told me she’s from the south of Spain and she wouldn’t ever expect someone to know the small place she’s from. I knew exactly where she was from, so it was quite coincidental.

“I’m so fortunate with Carmen because we met before the craziness of F 1. We met organically and it wasn’t a set up.

“She didn’t know who I was, she didn’t know F 1 and wasn’t even bothered by any of that. She is a very down-to-earth individual and we share values.”

Russell finished fourth in the F1 Drivers’ Championship last year and is currently preparing for the 2026 season, which starts on March 8.
