Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding in 2018 was a historic occasion – but one royal had a brutal reaction to the event

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot at Windsor Castle, with over 27 million viewers tuning in worldwide.

The ceremony unfolded in May 2018 before the Royal family and was broadcast globally from St George’s Chapel, but one Royal delivered a particularly harsh assessment of the joyous occasion.

Following the conclusion of the service, the newlyweds embarked on a carriage procession through Windsor, while the remaining Royal attendees proceeded to a formal reception at the castle.

According to Harold, it was at this moment that Prince Philip turned to his spouse and declared, “Thank f—, that’s over.”

“Once all the formalities were over,” Harold penned in his new publication, “we watched as the happy couple, and then the other members of the Royal family, filed out of the chapel.”

“When Prince Philip came out, he turned to the Queen and said, Thank f— that’s over”.

Grant Harold worked for King Charles at his Highgrove residence for seven years, spanning 2004 to 2011, and revealed the startling allegations in his publication The Royal Butler: My remarkable life of Royal Service.

Harold also recently voiced his disbelief in a Telegraph interview about some of Prince Harry’s assertions in his memoir Spare.

Prince Philip did not hold back

These assertions included that Harry and William harbored dislike for Camilla, and pleaded with Charles not to wed her.

“The four of them, I promise you, got on so well. And that’s why I don’t understand what Harry’s said, I really don’t understand,” the Royal butler clarified.

“Because I saw them. I saw them having dinners together, I saw them having drinks together, I saw them going to parties together, The King used to do things to make them laugh and giggle.”

Harold’s book is slated for release later this month.
