A former royal butler believes Prince Harry is feeling ‘quite apprehensive’ about his potential reunion with his father King Charles during his visit to the UK
A former royal butler has revealed details about Prince Harry’s potential reunion with King Charles III.
The prince is traveling back to Britain in two weeks to participate in the WellChild Awards, just around the time of the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
With Prince Harry’s return to his home country, certain family members are planning to keep their distance but his father is not one of them.
After a source revealed Prince Harry’s teams and the Palace has “opened a line of communication,” leaving a possibility for a meeting between the two next month.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold believes the prince is feeling “quite apprehensive” about it.
“He will be slightly nervous about it because it’s quite a big deal if he does get to see his father,” he explained. “There would be discussions about whether the rift could be healed.”
Their feud has only deepened since their last meeting in January of last year, with Prince Harry’s public revelations of his father’s health and his legal battle with his UK security requests.
Grant thinks this meeting is solely a “stepping stone” to mending their bond, and their reconciliation will take time.
“There is a chance they could begin to resolve it. But I don’t think one meeting is going to resolve four or five years of fallout,” he said. “But it’s a stepping stone in the start of the healing process.”
Grant also clarified that there is a chance the meeting “might not happen.”
“It is only speculation that there will be a reunion,” he mentioned.
If both parties choose to go forward with the meeting, there are conditions on how it will take place.
“If they have a reunion of any kind, the biggest thing for him is that it will remain a private conversation, and it doesn’t ever become public knowledge,” Grant said. “With any family that has had a falling out and is trying to resolve differences, they will not want to be in a situation where it becomes any worse and family members speak out.”
“Knowing the King, he will want this resolved. That will be the plan.”
As for other family members’ openness to a conversation with Prince Harry, his brother is completely against the idea.
A source told The Mirror, “As for Harry and William, though, any chance of reconciliation between them has been rejected out of hand.”
