Papa Roach and Carrie Underwood have officially hit gold with their emotional duet Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark).

The collaboration between the alternative rock band and the country superstar was certified gold by the RIAA just in time for World Suicide Prevention Day (10.09.25). The track, which has amassed over 218 million streams, continues to resonate deeply with fans across genres, serving as a powerful call for compassion and mental health awareness.

The milestone was marked by a stirring live performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where the rock veterans reunited with the eight-time Grammy winner for the first-ever joint rendition of the song. The moment was captured during Papa Roach’s Rise of the Roach tour stop, following Underwood’s own Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theatre.

Frontman Jacoby Shaddix described the track as “a symbol of hope and connection for those struggling in silence,” while Underwood praised its message of “compassion, connection, and reminding people they are not alone”.

In a meaningful gesture, both artists have pledged to donate all royalties from the song to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) in perpetuity, reinforcing their shared commitment to advocacy through music.

Papa Roach’s dedication to mental health causes has been a consistent theme throughout their career. Earlier this year, the band presented a £20,000 donation to the Campaign Against Living Miserably during their sold-out Wembley Arena show, raised entirely through their UK tour efforts.
