Netflix’s Bridgerton season 4 part 2 trailer has sparked burning questions about Benedict and Sophie’s romance amongst other plot-points.

Bridgerton enthusiasts are keen to discover Benedict and Sophie’s ultimate destiny following the emotional trailer.

Series four is returning to Netflix imminently with part two, comprising four episodes, launching on February 26.

Prior to the new instalments, Netflix released a full-length trailer for the latter half of the series, which draws from Julia Quinn’s novel, An Offer From A Gentleman.

The trailer reveals how Benedict Bridgerton’s (played by Luke Thompson) fairytale-style romance with Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) continues to develop, with Benedict conflicted between selecting Sophie or society.

Whilst situated in the Regency period, the programme has demonstrated how a family’s standing is vital regarding society and its demands.

Below are just a handful of the queries that have emerged following the captivating Bridgerton part two trailer.

Will Sophie become Benedict’s mistress?

The trailer begins with Sophie evidently having distanced herself from Benedict following his proposition that she become his mistress.

After he sent a letter to her, Sophie made plain she “did not wish to see” Benedict and has attempted her utmost to keep away from him. She is subsequently seen confiding in several of her companions about Benedict’s proposal, stating that becoming a mistress is the final thing she would ever desire.

Meanwhile, Benedict is finding it difficult to envisage how else he can be with a woman whom society prohibits him from pursuing a relationship with. Despite Sophie’s efforts to distance herself from Benedict, it’s evident the two still harbour intense feelings for one another.

He confesses: “I cannot love a maid, and yet you have taken possession of me,” before the duo share an ardent kiss.

What role will Anthony and Kate play?

Anthony actor Jonathan Bailey appears in the part two trailer cautioning his brother Benedict: “You have convinced yourself that she is reason enough to risk everything.”

This suggests Benedict has opened up to his brother regarding his romantic difficulties and Anthony has travelled back from India with his wife Kate (Simone Ashley) to provide his assistance.

Kate and Anthony are also shown embracing their new roles as parents, as viewers are granted a peek at the couple with their newborn baby. Netflix’s Tudum revealed: “Thankfully, both Sophie and Benedict have people they can turn to for advice: Anthony returns home from India with his wife, Kate, just in time to give Benedict some hard-line older-brother advice.”

Will Francesca and Michaela get together?

The trailer features Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and John Stirling (Victor Alli) gazing affectionately at each other, but moments later, the couple are shown conversing with John’s cousin, Michaela (Masali Baduza), at a gathering.

Those familiar with the books will recognise that Francesca and John’s cousin, who is named Michael in Julia Quinn’s novels, ultimately develop a romantic connection. Viewers are keen to discover whether the same-sex romance between Francesca and Michaela will unfold on-screen.

Netflix’s Tudum posed the question: “Will the Stirlings find balance now that John’s adventurous cousin Michaela has arrived in London – much to the pragmatic Francesca’s surprise?”
