Meghan’s Netflix series takes the attention off of Harry

Prince Harry has been comfortably residing in the shadow of Meghan Markle for some time, according to a royal expert. The expert suggests that this benefits on Harry as he looks to repair frayed family relations.

However, with an upcoming meeting with King Charles on the horizon, it seems it’s time for Harry to step back into the limelight.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Express US, Pauline Maclaran, co-author of Royal Fever and Professor at Royal Holloway, discussed the dynamic between Harry and Meghan and how it could potentially benefit the Duke in his quest for a royal reconciliation.

Maclaran said: “I think Meghan’s second season has put the focus on her rather than Harry at present, although I also think she has been overshadowing him for quite a while now.”

She further added: “We seem to hear less and less about him and lots about her jam and flower sprinkles!”

Adding to her insights, she said: “However, Harry is probably happy to step out of the spotlight and it will give less opportunity for him to make any royal faux pas that are going to alienate him further from his family in the UK.”

The second season of Meghan’s Netflix series premiered last week. According to Maclaran’s assessment, this may have provided Harry with a respite from critics as he gears up for his journey to the UK.

We asked Maclaran if there’s anything Harry can do to prepare for his meeting with his father, which is slated for September 8.

She suggested: “I think if he just assumes the role of concerned son (rather than critic or victim), he is more likely to repair the relationship with this father, by appealing to the King’s paternal instinct.”
