Lewis Hamilton will not have enjoyed his first time watching the Denver Broncos at their home stadium following a nightmare Formula One season

Lewis Hamilton has been the subject of brutal jokes from Denver Broncos fans telling him not to return after he was in attendance for their 34-20 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which ended an 11-game winning streak. Hamilton was part of the consortium that purchased the Broncos back in August 2022 for a staggering £3.4billion.

A busy calendar meant Hamilton had not yet visited their home stadium for an NFL match, but that changed this past weekend. With the Broncos flying high, it looked like the perfect opportunity to make an appearance, though it did not turn out that way with the Jags, who are also on an impressive run, handing them their first defeat since September 21, 2025.

Having been present for their only defeat of the last three months, Hamilton took some flack from Broncos supporters, though it appeared to all be in good faith. One fan, upon learning Hamilton was there, stated on X: “No, we are on an 11-game win streak, we don’t need anything different happening to disrupt that [laughing face emoji].”

Another brutally wrote: “Don’t come back,” while a third added: “That explains why they lost.” Another, referencing his challenging Formula One season, said: “They’re playing about as well as his car was driving this year.”

The final comment is unfortunately true, with Hamilton having a very difficult first year at Ferrari. He ended the season sixth in the Drivers Championship on 156 points, over double behind title winner Lando Norris and 108 off team-mate Charles Leclerc.

The latter was recently asked if he had any advice for Hamilton, but he opted to explain why he could not really offer him any words of wisdom. “My job is to obviously maximise whatever I can do in my control,” Leclerc said.

“There’s already so many things I’m focused on for myself and the team, to try and make sure that my driving fits the car in the best possible way. It’s obviously difficult for me to then also spend time [helping Hamilton]. And also, Lewis has achieved a lot more than I ever did. I don’t really have any advice to give him.”

Other verdicts on Hamilton have been delivered with the idea of retirement mooted by former world champion Nico Rosberg. However, Hamilton had a clear response when presented with those comments. “I won’t say anything to them,” Hamilton told planet F1. “None of them have done what I’ve done. They’re not even on my level.”
