Jimmy Kimmel Slams Trump Over ‘Rush Hour 4’ Push With Brett Ratner: Late-Night Host Jokes ‘Next Up, The Cosby Show’

Jimmy Kimmel (“Jimmy Kimmel Live!”/YouTube)
“So, for anyone who says Trump wastes a lot of time on nothing, wrong, we’re getting a ‘Rush Hour 4,’” Jimmy Kimmel quipped on Tuesday night, poking fun at former President Donald Trump during his Jimmy Kimmel Live! monologue.
The late-night host addressed reports claiming that Trump had privately lobbied Paramount Pictures to greenlight a fourth installment of the hit action-comedy franchise “Rush Hour”, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, under the direction of Brett Ratner, a filmmaker long mired in controversy.
Kimmel, never one to miss an opportunity for sarcasm, remarked that the president was “hard at work on the issues that matter most to America,” before delivering his punchline.
“Next Up, The Cosby Show?”
Adding to the comedy, Kimmel joked:
“Next up, The Cosby Show,” referencing Ratner’s checkered reputation in Hollywood and highlighting the absurdity of Trump’s alleged obsession with film projects instead of political matters.
The segment drew laughs from the live audience, with Kimmel blending pop culture and political satire in his signature style. His monologue suggested that Trump’s focus on Hollywood ventures — real or imagined — seemed far removed from the pressing issues facing the nation.
Late-Night Takes on Trump’s Entertainment Obsession

This isn’t the first time Kimmel has lampooned Trump for indulging in unusual or unexpected projects. From lobbying for movie sequels to making bizarre public statements, the comedian often uses these moments to underscore what he sees as the former president’s eccentric priorities.
Fans of the show took to social media after Tuesday’s episode, praising Kimmel for mixing humor with pointed commentary, while others laughed at the surreal image of Trump as a “studio executive” for questionable film projects.
