Things took a strange turn as the radio veteran walked outside into the media scrum.
Kyle Sandilands has turned up the drama as he began an $85 million legal fight over his sacking following an on-air bust-up with co-host Jackie O.
But more than the money, the radio star says he just wants to be back on the air.
The king of radio held court in his first appearance for the 54-year-old’s $100 million contract showdown with ARN Media.
But in true Sandilands fashion, it quickly went rogue.
As Sandilands was being ushered from court one woman emerged from the waiting media pack and asked him: “Are you sorry (about) misleading people with the vaccine?”
The radio shock jock appeared confused by the comment at first before responding: “Sorry, sorry. I’m happy to talk about the COVID thing in one second.”

The woman could then be seen holding her phone to film her and Sandilands as he turned away to speak to media.
In his court battle with ARN, Sandilands insists his argument with Jackie O was not serious misconduct.
“I didn’t do anything different than I’ve been doing for 25 years. It’s actually a little bit tamer than most days because I was actually quite concerned that, you know, she’s feeling good and everything’s OK,” he said.
Sandilands’ legal team questioned why the segment wasn’t censored by management at the time.
He’s fighting for the remaining $85 million of his contract or to be back on air.
“I just want to get back to work or earning. I’ve got a family, I’ve got mortgages like everyone else,” Sandilands said.

His former employer may sue for his earnings back.
When asked if they were confident of a strong case, Sandilands’ team said they were happy that what they’re putting forward was going to be well received.
The judge still has to decide whether the case will centre around the now infamous 20-minute argument or Sandilands’ whole career with the company.
He will return to court next month.
