Kelly Osbourne has shared her first statement following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne. The singer and media personality shared a moving message on social media, exploring her complicated feelings and thanking the people who’ve supported her through one of the most challenging moments of her life.

In the post, which was shared over Instagram stories, Osbourne thanked the people who had supported her through this time, including Ozzy’s fans, who’ve showered her with positive wishes and love. She accompanied her message to the Ozzy song “See You On The Other Side.”
“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough.. but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” she wrote.

“The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”
Osbourne shared her thoughts on grief and how the past couple of days had affected her mindset. “Grief is a strange thing-it sneaks up on you in waves—I will not be ok for a while-but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference,” she wrote.
“I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

More details about Ozzy’s death
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22nd. His death was confirmed by his family, who shared a statement.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” it read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Earlier this year, Osbourne opened up about the bond between her son, Sidney, and her parents, which has been one of her favorite things to witness. “So, favorite time of the day is nighttime because [Sidney] leaves me and gets in bed with my mom and dad because I’m staying in their house right now while my house is getting ready,” she said to PEOPLE.
“And he goes and gets in bed with them and they have cartoon time together and it is the sweetest thing ever. I have to literally rip him out.”
