Cole Sprouse admits he had 'really really hard' time working with Jennifer Anniston

Cole Sprouse revealed that he found working opposite Jennifer Aniston on Friends ‘really really hard’ but not for the reason you may think.

The young child star, who shot to fame as Ross Geller’s (David Schwimmer) son in the much-quoted series, has spoken out about working on the show and in particular his experience working in close quarters with Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green.

And while he might not see any of his former cast mates these days, the now-24-year-old, who later went on to star as Jughead in Riverdale, says he still remembers his time on Friends fondly.

But it wasn’t all plain sailing for the young boy back in the day, as you can probably imagine.

Speaking to the New York Post, Sprouse said: “I must have been maybe seven or eight [when I started working on Friends.] I was only in seven episodes, but it’s funny now that people are recognising me for that because my brother and have been working since we were eight months old. So I’m sure the professional entertainment sleuths are eventually gonna find all these strange little cameos of my brother and I over time.”

Cole also revealed that despite being almost unrecognisable now to his child character in Friends, people have started to notice it was him that played Ben since the show started streaming on Netflix.

“Because Friends is on Netflix, there’s a renewed interest from that. Having responded to a Disney show for such a long time, people can call me ‘Ben’ on the street and I will turn around. It’s a funny little process. Now people are calling me Jughead — it’s a strange feeling when you start getting called something new.

“I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her. I was infatuated. I was speechless — I’d get all bubbly and forget my lines and completely blank … It was so difficult. [laughs]”Sprouse said it was very hard working with Aniston (Rachel Luna/WireImage)

On the impact of being on such a huge hit show, he added: “The scale was just tremendous and you felt it when you stepped on set, even as a kid. It was challenging because I was a small kid who was working with these sort of megalithic actors at the time. It was quite intimidating. But it was a really wonderful experience. They were all tremendously nice.”

The actor also starred alongside twin brother Dylan on the 2005-08 Disney Channel series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
