Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly planning to call King Charles as the California based royals keeping a line of communication open with the monarch.

According to royal expert Rob Shuter, the Duke and Duchess plan to call King Charles on Christmas Day.

Archie and Lilibet parents want to keeping a line of communication open with the monarch even as they once again skip the traditional royal family gathering in the U.K.

The royal insiders told Rob Shuter for his substack, Meghan and Harry will not be there in person, but “they will be in touch.”

The royal insider said, “It’s important to Harry that his father hears from him on Christmas.”

The fresh claims came amid reports Meghan and Harry will spend the holiday with their children Archie and Lilibet at home in Montecito.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland will also join them.

The royal couple also plan to jet off for a luxury New Year’s getaway with friends.

Meghan and Harry often spend the season with their children in California.

In his bombshell memoir Spare, the Duke shared an insight into his first Christmas in his new home with his family.

“We took Archie to find a Christmas tree,” Harry wrote and added “A pop-up lot in Santa Barbara.”

He went on saying: “We bought one of the biggest spruces they had. We brought it home, set it up in the living room. Magnificent. We stood back, admiring, counting our blessings. New home. Healthy boy. It was Christmas Eve. We FaceTimed with several friends, including a few in Britain. We watched Archie running around the tree. And we opened presents. Keeping to the Windsor family tradition.”
