Viewers have called out the unlikelihood of stars being able to smuggle in banned items

AN I’m A Celebrity ‘mystery’ has left viewers baffled.

After ex-Lioness and Football Focus host Alex Scott, 41, was seen using salt she had smuggled into camp, her campmate Shona McGarty has been caught red-handed too.

Alex was caught on camera sprinkling her contraband salt into a camp meal of crocodile feet before being evicted on Friday night.

She had smuggled sachets into the site but was caught on camera seasoning the dinner – a move made rapper Aitch, 25, lose one star he had won in a trial.

Alex swiped salt and pepper sachets from a service station before heading into a villa to film for the series’ launch show.

On Sunday night’s show, EastEnders actor Shona entered camp with a laminate, as she guiltily told her fellow campmates: “please don’t hate me…”

The laminate informed the celebrities contraband had been found in camp.

Coming clean, Shona told the camp “I’m not responsible for it, but I used it”.

She revealed the contraband in question was some butter she found in the food trunk.

Viewers are now asking how contraband has been so easy to sneak into camp this year.

One said: “Do we think the producers give them the contraband to create drama? Surely they’re not eating 2 week old butter that’s not been in the fridge.”

Another wrote: “I don’t believe this contraband stuff. All for camera and drama.”

Someone else said: “They already got done for contraband once why did Shona think she’d get away with not handing in the butter.”

Another fan wrote: “Ok so the producers are 100% planting contraband to force story and punishment, everyone who goes in there knows it’s not allowed and they already got punished before for having it. This is dumb now lmao.”

With Shona as the camp leader, she had an important choice to make – as punishment for the contraband found in camp she could either step down as leader, or lose two stars won in the day’s trial.

As the celebrities deduced it might have been Alex who smuggled it in, Shona told the Bush Telegraph: “I don’t know where it came from, but I saw it and my eyes lit up and I used it”.

Taking the decision herself, Shona decided to dethrone from her role as camp leader as Aitch took Shona’s big leaf she was using as a crown and put it on the fire.

The celebrities then took a vote to appoint a new camp leader, with Ruby winning by a landslide.

She told her campmates: “Things are about to change.” as she told the camp: “No more Mrs Nice Guy!”.

Ruby demanded that Shona should be her footstool, Aitch should be her entertainer and Angry Ginge her dancer.

Jack reflected: “Ruby as leader, pure insanity. The craziest dictatorship I think the world will ever know.”
