Netflix’s Bridgerton has taken one lucky superfan on a fairytale journey to the world premiere of season four in Paris.

Netflix’s Bridgerton has marked the launch of its fourth series by whisking one devoted fan off on a lavish journey to the world premiere in Paris.

The newest chapter of the captivating period drama focuses on Benedict Bridgerton (portrayed by Luke Thompson), the second-eldest son, and his clandestine affair with maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

The opening four episodes of the series dropped this past Thursday (29th January), with the remaining instalments scheduled for release in just under a month, on 26th February.

Prior to Netflix viewers getting their first glimpse of the latest passionate instalment, Bridgerton’s Cinderella tale came to life when teaching assistant Sophie, from County Durham, was swept away to Paris.

Sophie, who supports children with special educational needs, was put forward by her closest friend and colleague Hannah, alongside thousands of other fans, after the Netflix show announced the competition with a message from Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) herself: “Who shall go to the ball?”, reports <a

Upon learning she was the fortunate winner, Sophie enjoyed a magical experience featuring a horse-drawn carriage, an opulent ballroom and some surprise appearances from the Bridgerton cast.

Speaking about the extraordinary trip, Sophie said: “I am incredibly grateful to every single person we met along the way on our Bridgerton journey.

“There truly are no words to describe what an extraordinary adventure this has been, so thank you for giving us a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Thank you to everyone for your incredible hard work, dedication, and kindness; none of this would have been possible without you.

“From the most magical surprise in Newark, to stepping onto the red carpet in Paris, to connecting with so many beautiful souls, every moment meant more to me than words could ever express.”

Sophie originally thought she was heading off for a first aid course with a friend before discovering the truth and finding herself in a Regency ballroom surrounded by dancers dressed in period costume.
