A biopic dubbed a masterpiece is currently available for Netflix subscribers to stream. Priscilla is based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir, Elvis & Me, and explores her complicated relationship with Elvis Presley. The film stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley and Jacob Elordi as Elvis, with viewers praising the actors’ incredible performances.
The synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes, where it has an 84% score, reads: “When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend.
“Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.”
One fan described it as “the most visually stunning movie I’ve seen,” Similarly, a second noted that they loved “the movie, the graphics, adding that “the way that everything is captured is so beautiful”.
As well as the visuals and storytelling, the cast played a massive role in the film’s success, with many highlighting the on-screen chemistry between the pair, one describing it as “mesmerising”.

One said: “A really well done biopic about Priscilla. Truly shows how even in a house full of people she was still lonely. Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi work really we as Elvis and Priscilla especially with the height difference. The music complements the film really well even without any Elvis songs. One I will rewatch over and over again.”
One viewer loved the film so much that they were upset they didn’t get the chance to see it on the big screen, saying, “so mad that I didn’t get to see this masterpiece in theatre”.
Whilst another simply wrote: “Everything about this film is gold.”
Those that want to watch the emotive film for themselves can find it on Netflix.
