Abigail is now streaming on Netflix, but who is in the cast of the horror-comedy that has been thrilling subscribers?
Netflix users are keen to discover who stars in Abigail, a gripping new horror-comedy that was added to the streaming platform over the weekend.
Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, also known as Radio Silence, the directing duo behind Ready or Not and Scream (2022), it centres on a group of criminals hired to kidnap the daughter of a formidable crime boss.
Believing she’ll secure them a life-altering ransom, the motley crew soon realise their captive is no ordinary child when they begin to be eliminated one by one.
Abigail initially raked in $43 million (£32m) at the box office during its original cinema release in 2024 and is now set to attract an even larger audience now it’s readily available to stream, reports the Mirror.

At the beginning of the film, the criminals adopt aliases based on the Hollywood rat-pack, hence the dual credits.
As for where you might recognise the stars from, we’ll start with lead actress Barrera, who is most famous for her role in Radio Silence’s two Scream sequels as Samantha ‘Sam’ Carpenter.
A Mexican actress, she achieved her big break after featuring in the musical reality competition series La Academia, subsequently starring in telenovelas such as La otra cara del alma and Tanto amor. She has also graced the Peacock sci-fi thriller The Copenhagen Test and the musical drama film Carmen, a fresh take on the renowned opera of the same name.

Barrera’s notable co-star Stevens is a British actor famed for his role as Matthew Crawley in ITV’s popular period drama Downton Abbey, as well as portraying the Beast in Disney’s live-action reimagining of Beauty and the Beast.
His other significant roles encompass the superhero thriller series Legion and blockbuster films like Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
The eponymous Abigail is played by Alisha Weir, an emerging child star who depicted Matilda Wormwood in Matilda the Musical and starred in Wicked Little Letters alongside Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley.

She’ll be teaming up again with Radio Silence for their forthcoming sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, set to release this year.
Durand has also made appearances in major franchise films including X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, as well as The Naked Gun reboot starring Liam Neeson. On the small screen, he is recognised for roles in Vikings, Swamp Thing, and Locke and Key.
Rickles is played by Catlett, whose work has predominantly featured in television programmes including The Mentalist, Lovecraft Country, Black Lightning, and Constellation.

Breaking Bad icon Giancarlo Esposito portrays Lambert (Image: UNIVERSAL PICTURES)
Euphoria actor Cloud takes on the role of Dean, the crew’s driver. His credits also include Freaky Tales and The Garfield Movie, though he tragically passed away aged 25 in July 2023.
The film also boasts cameos from Hollywood heavyweights Esposito as Lambert, who recruits the team, and Goode, playing Abigail’s father and an infamous vampire crime boss.
Esposito has built his reputation through films such as Do the Right Thing and Maxxxine, alongside his memorable turn as villain Gus Fring in acclaimed crime series Breaking Bad. More recently, he’s featured in Netflix’s The Gentlemen and Prime Video’s The Boys.

A Discovery of Witches star Matthew Goode portrays another vampire (Image: UNIVERSAL PICTURES)
Goode, meanwhile, has also enjoyed Netflix success with crime thriller Dept. Q, whilst playing another vampire character, Matthew de Clairmont, in popular drama A Discovery of Witches.
His extensive portfolio includes depicting Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon, in The Crown’s second series, roles in acclaimed programmes The Good Wife and Downton Abbey, plus film appearances in The Imitation Game, Watchmen and The King’s Man.
