Meghan Markle was once mistaken for Megan Fox during a very awkward phone call, it has been revealed.

The hilarious moment resurfaced back in 2022, which led to a fresh round of mocking for the Duchess of Sussex.

Back in 2022, Shannon Keith, an animal rights attorney who runs the Beagle Freedom Project, spoke to the Los Angeles Times about her interaction with Meghan.

Meghan, 44, and her husband Prince Harry, 41, adopted a beagle, Mamma Mia, who was seven at the time, from Shannon’s dog shelter.

We talked for 30 minutes, and I thought, ‘Is this Megan Fox?’

However, there was a bit of confusion from Keith initially over who she was actually talking to when Meghan rang her up to discuss adopting the pooch.

“She calls on my cell with no caller ID and says, ‘Hey Shannon, this is Meghan,’” Shannon explained.

“We talked for 30 minutes, and I thought, ‘Is this Megan Fox?’”

Meghan’s Hollywood drama

In other Hollywood-related news surrounding the duchess, Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder has revealed that she’s “furious” with Meghan.

Speaking on her podcast, Straight Up With Stassi, the 37-year-old TV personality said that she didn’t receive a promotional gift package from Meghan’s brand, As Ever.

“I have literally defended her when no one else did,” Stassi fumed. “I have filmed videos about it, I’ve commented on all the things, I even had my [bleeping] PR reach out.”

Stassi explained that she’s been in Meghan’s corner through years of online hate and controversy. However, the PR box snubbing was the final straw.

“I’m not watching her show anymore, I’m not going to talk about her anymore. I’m going to unfollow her right now,” she said.

“The way she moves through social media, I think she’s stuck in 2017, and she just thinks I’m a lowly reality person. That’s what I think, and I am furious,” she added.

Meghan’s ex-best friend ‘won’t write tell-all memoir on fallout’

Meanwhile, it’s also been reported recently that Meghan’s former friend, Jessica Mulroney, won’t be writing a tell-all memoir about their fallout.

Meghan and Jessica met in 2011 while working in Toronto. They were such close friends that Meghan invited Jessica to her wedding, and the fashion stylist’s children even had roles on the big day.

However, they reportedly fell out in 2020 amid a “white privilege” row Jessica had with influencer Sasha Exeter.

Defending herself in the row, Jessica explained: “I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre. It was deeply educational.”

Meghan allegedly felt as though Jessica was “making a career” out of their friendship.

It’s been reported recently that Jessica has been offered seven figures to write a book about their fallout. However, she reportedly doesn’t want to.

“Meghan still has a lot of eyes and ears in Canada. I suspect Jessica is not sure what to do [with what she knows]. Meghan is still pretty powerful and they have a lot of people in common,” a source said.

“She is probably biding her time. She lost her career but to come after Meghan could be perceived as being petty and bitter and could potentially alienate her even more.”
