I’m A Celebrity South Africa fans were left ‘bawling’ as Adam Thomas broke down in tears over an emotional message he received on the ITV reality series.

Filmed last year, fans are preparing for the final of the All Stars version of the Ant and Dec series on Friday night (April 24). Sadly, Adam has been seen going through a tough time in the jungle.

Boxer David Haye was seen on the series calling out Adam, who has arthritis, for not feeling well enough to do a Bushtucker Trial. This led to Adam taking to Instagram over the weekend with a lengthy post about the controversial moment before speaking about it to his brothers Scott and Ryan Thomas on their podcast.

The fallout has continued into this week, with David branding Adam a ‘professional victim’ during an interview on This Morning. Back in the jungle, Adam was almost sent home because of Jimmy Bullard.

Former Fulham player Jimmy was seen watching the Bushtucker trail before he told Adam, who he was in a team with: “Boys, I don’t think I’ve got it in me.” Jimmy then apologised to Adam and said ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’, which caused the trial to end for everyone and meant that contestants had to forfeit the stars they had won.

Adam then stormed over to Jimmy during a heated exchange and said: “Taking the f****** piss, are you taking the f****** piss?” He added: “I’m in there getting covered in f****** ants!” Jimmy responded by telling him to “calm down” and described his outburst as “pathetic”.

Due to Jimmy not attempting the challenge, Ant and Dec asked the campmates if they wanted to keep Adam in, who unanimously voted for the actor to remain on the show. Thankfully, Adam got some much needed love in scenes aired on Thursday night (April 23).

As is tradition for the final week of I’m A Celebrity, each of the remaining campmates received a message from home. This year saw them receiving voice notes from their loved ones rather than letters.

Adam’s son Teddy said: “Hi daddy, I love you so much dad. I’ve tried to be the man of the house. It’s just not the same without you.” His daughter Elsie-Rose then added: “I can’t wait to see you daddy, you’re the best daddy in the world. I can’t wait to give you lots of big hugs.”

Caroline Daly, Adam’s wife, concluded the message, telling him: “Hi baby, the house is just so quiet without you. We’re just all lost, you’re our whole world. I’ll know you’ll be smashing it. Love you so much.”

Erupting into tears, Adam was consoled by his campmates as he said: “Oh my god, I can’t. I can’t take any more of this. It’s magic here. Oh god, so good. I’m so happy just to hear their voices.”

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Adam added: “It just doesn’t get better than that, it really doesn’t. It was just so beautiful. It was the perfect way to end the night. I can’t tell you how much I needed that.”

Those watching I’m A Celebrity South Africa at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the moment as they sent their support to Adam and the rest of the campmates.

@atvfriend said: “Omg. Adam needed to hear his wife and kids.” @antimvttr added: “adam and scarlett’s have killed me off #imaceleb.”
