Sen. Elizabeth Warren used her appearance on Thursday’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert to blast CBS’ new parent company, warning Paramount Skydance chief David Ellison on the network’s own airwaves.

The exchange began after Colbert mentioned that Warren had dressed her dog Bailey as the host for Halloween.

“There’s a reason we picked that costume,” Warren told Colbert. “Bailey and I talked about this, and we don’t think one corporation, or one man named David Ellison, should be able to buy up all the shows and buy up all the sports and buy up all the news, and decide who watches what and who pays what.”

Skydance acquired CBS parent Paramount Global in August—a deal many believe contributed to The Late Show’s cancellation. Since taking control, Ellison has launched major changes at CBS News and is now pursuing a bid for Warner Bros. Discovery.

“I’m gonna stay in that fight,” Warren said as the audience applauded.

Colbert then offered a brief on-air disclaimer. “I have never met Mr. Ellison,” he said, turning to the camera. “And I’m sure he’s a fine fella.”

He pivoted back to Warren with a mock whisper: “You’re gonna get me sued. You’re gonna get me sued.”

Warren has previously pressed Skydance over its takeover. Days after Colbert’s cancellation, she demanded transparency around the Paramount deal in a Variety op-ed and in a letter to the company. Skydance later denied any involvement in the show’s cancellation.
